IN THE LINE OF DUTY CAPTAIN JON ENANDER

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a valued member of our Union. Capt. Jon Enander beloved husband of Debbie Enander. Brother Enander passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at the age of 62 years.

Capt. Enander joined the Fire Department on September 10, 1979 and spent the last 33 serving the community in the capacity of a firefighter and EMT. Capt. Enander was eventually promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2007 and to the rank of Captain on March 7, 2009. Jon was the captain at Station 3 and served the department and his crews well in that position. He was well respected by his peers and had an infectious sense of humour that lightened the mood of any situation or discussion. His entertaining stories were second to none.

The fire service grieves the loss of a true hero, someone who gave his life in the service of his community. In recognition of Capt. Enander’s sacrifice, he will receive full department honours. Details of the service are as follows:
